Kate trained as a pharmacist before studying law, her undergraduate degree is in chemistry. She has detailed knowledge of evidence law, including expert evidence, from experience in all types of Federal and State criminal trial litigation, including fitness hearings and crime commission proceedings. Kate is on the criminal law barristers’ indictable panel for the NSW Legal Aid Commission and is a teaching fellow in Evidence Law at UNSW.

Kate has an LLM in intellectual property and communications law from Monash University. She was previously a Registered Trade Marks Attorney and worked as a Hearings Officer in the Trade Marks tribunal.

Kate has a general practice that includes proceedings arising from historical abuse, criminal allegations, appeals, judicial review, torts, common law and coronial inquiries (including for persons of interest), as well as administrative law.
